About Dardo India

History :  The Differently Abled Research and Development Organisation (DARDO) is India’s first-ever multidisciplinary R&D initiative dedicated exclusively to persons with disabilities, encompassing customised equpiments, education, accessibility, innovation, and community development which was founded in India, working towards integrating all disability sectors under one umbrella to promote inclusion, equal opportunity, and sustainable empowerment at the national and global level.DARDO pioneers research on 360° solutions by combining equipment design, therapy, vocational training, and sports facilities, Pan-disability coverage, embracing physical, sensory, intellectual, developmental, and mental-health challenges, Collaboration across sectors, uniting academia, industry, government, and civil society to ensure accessible infrastructure, policy influence, and sustainable impact and a national and international mandate, positioning India as a global leader in comprehensive disability innovation.DARDO is not only redefining R&D for persons with disabilities in India—it’s setting a bold global standard.

Vision :  To build a fully inclusive society where every differently abled person thrives—empowered by DARDO’s integrated ecosystem, including a multi-ability R&D centre, Special Needs Clinic, residential rehabilitation with world-class tech, community college, university, and elder palliative care—fostering dignity, independence, and opportunity.

Mission :  To drive innovative, research-driven solutions and inclusive initiatives across accessibility, customized assistive devices, education, technology, therapy, sports, and employment—empowering differently abled individuals to live with dignity, independence, and opportunity through strategic collaborations, policy advocacy, and grassroots initiatives.

Objectives :
 Lead inclusive R&D for all disabilities by establishing India’s first multi-ability research centre focused on innovative, barrier-free assistive technologies.
  Foster high-impact academic collaborations by partnering with schools, colleges, and universities through projects, internships, and PhD research—leveraging government schemes. 
Strengthen state and central government affiliations, securing support through CSR, public-private partnerships and disability-focused grants to support innovation and field deployment. 
Bridge industry–academia ecosystems by fostering innovation clusters, ensuring translation of research into world-class indigenous assistive products. 
Set Asia’s benchmark for assistive tech excellence by launching world-class labs, demo centres, and pilot facilities-positioning India as a regional pioneer. 
Develop sustainable R&D capacity by engaging interns, doctoral students, and technical institutes in long-term, field-driven innovation projects funded via CSR, government grants, and international collaborations.
Establishing partnerships with government bodies, corporate sectors, and international organizations for sustainable impact. 
Hosting national and international seminars, conferences, and exhibitions on disability and inclusion.

By combining personal lived experience, academic rigor, and grassroots activism, DARDO is redefining inclusion in India. Our long-term goals include building a Multi‑Ability R&D Centre, Special Needs Clinic, Residential Rehabilitation Center with world-class technology, Community College, Differently Abled University, and Elderly Palliative Care—all to empower differently-abled individuals with dignity, independence, and opportunity.
